LET-a CeMAT ASIA event 2020 Rounded off with Satisfied Results

The three-day LET-a CeMAT ASIA event 2020 rounded off on 29 August in Zone B of China Import & Export Complex (Guangzhou). Under the theme of “Intelligent Manufacturing, Smart Logistics – Embrace the New Era of Intelligent Logistics”, other three concurrent shows – Guangzhou International Cold Chain Logistics Exhibition 2020, Guangzhou International Logistics and Supply Chain Exhibition 2020 and IMS-a CeMAT ASIA event 2020 & IIoT Show 2020 were jointly staged with LET. The exhibition covered 30,000 sqm and attracted more than 400 well-known exhibitors at home and abroad. Over 30,000 professional visitors made their way to the show.
Distinguished Guests Gathering at the Opening Ceremony
At the opening ceremony held on 27 August, officials of Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government, Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce, Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Guangzhou Haizhu District Government, as well as representatives from more than 20 consulates of “Belt and Road” core countries and over 100 associations showed up to witness the grand opening of LET 2020. Krister Sandvoss, Global Director of Industries & Logistics New Exhibitions Development of Deutsche Messe AG, sent a special video message.
Mr. Gao Yuyue, Deputy Secretary-General of Guangzhou Municipal People's Government, fully affirmed the important role played by LET-a CeMAT ASIA event as a “wind indicator” for the development of logistics industry in South China in past decades, and as a platform of comprehensive communication and trade cooperation for manufacturing industry in South China in pursuit of automation, intelligence and IT application in logistics. He emphasized that Guangzhou Municipal Government has always been committed to promoting application of the latest concepts including advanced manufacturing, IoT and Industry 4.0 to production, opening up business opportunities for logistics and technology manufacturers at home and abroad.
Gary Liu, Chairman of Hannover Milano Best Exhibitions (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd., stated that even though COVID-19 has been plaguing a majority of sectors at varying degrees in the service industry, demands boosted under such special scenarios have brought another spring for logistics industry. He added that quarantine at home has made many residents choose online shopping and delivery service, which will be normalized in the post-pandemic era, and thus turns into a rigid demand. When productions are resumed totally, factories and end customers will have an increasing demand of logistics service. This necessitates advanced technologies and solutions in the post-pandemic era.
A Collection of Industry Giants with New Products Debut
As a leading exhibition of logistics equipment industry in South China, LET-a CeMAT ASIA event 2020 has attracted a large number of industry giants including KEYENCE, Swisslog, TÜV SÜD, NORD Power Transmission, Cascade, Sumitomo, ABM, WERMA, XCMG, Guozi Robotics, Hangcha Group, Re Founder, Bito Robotics, Hikrobot, FHI, Wap, TOYO Automation, Mushiny, Quicktron, OKAGV Robotics, Dorosin, MARSHELL, HC Robotics, Aipower, Kengic, HO JIN Logistic & Machinery, VisionNav Robotics, Duoendn, Enfon Robotics, CONINCO, Youli and GoldPeak Logistic. In order to better serve exhibitors and purchasers, a special "new product launch" event was also set up at the exhibition site to give a stage for the logistics products and technology. Waysim, Sinosort and Discovery Technology unveiled their new products.
Supportive Activities Interpreting the Industrial Trend
In addition to the exhibition, more than a dozen various events during LET-a CeMAT ASIA event 2020 also attracted attention. “BRI International Smart Logistics Development Summit 2020”, which was co-sponsored by the China Chamber of International Commerce Guangzhou, Guangzhou Logistics Technology and Application Association, Hannover Milan Best Exhibition (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. and co-organized by the Belt and Road Development Association, was held smoothly on the first day of the show. The theme of this summit was “Going Global and Bringing In: New Opportunities for Smart Logistics”. Together with the representatives from embassies and consulate-generals from BRI core countries, associations and chambers of commerce, the topics about infrastructure, technology, and Policy were discussed. About 200 participants attended the summit.
“China Intelligent Logistics Summit & China Logistics Industry 'Golden Ant' Awards Ceremony” has been held for four times. This year's ceremony also ended successfully during the LET-a CeMAT ASIA event, which attracted representatives from apparel, food, e-commerce, logistics, home appliances, home furnishing, automobiles, 3C, medicine, building materials, supply chain, retail, daily chemicals, paper making and stationery industries. Over 300 participants came to discuss the development of the smart logistics industry.
In addition, concurrent events and forums also included The 6th China (Guangzhou) International E-commerce Logistics Core Competitiveness Summit 2020, Guangdong Cold Chain Industry Development Conference, International Industrial Internet Technology and Application Development Conference 2020, Guangzhou International Logistics and Packaging Development Forums, etc. The organizer invited industry experts from the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics, the German Logistics Association and other institutions to share the latest information, discuss and analyze the development direction of smart logistics for user companies’ demand.

Organizers initiated a novel “Business Matchmaking” for the purpose of bridging exhibitors and buyers, and seamlessly connecting pre-exhibition, exhibition and post-exhibition. Collection of information on purchasing requirements and solutions in the pre-exhibition phase helps organizers coordinate supply and demand among participants more precisely, so as to shore up the participating rate and efficiency.
