A splendid Guangzhou International Travel Fair upgraded with new content and layout

As the earliest large-scale international tourism exhibition in China with the longest history, Guangzhou International Travel Fair 2018 (GITF 2018) will be grandly held at China Import and Export Fair Complex Guangzhou on March 1-3, 2018. Panama is the partner country. Attracting 1,029 exhibitors from 53 countries and regions, this year’s show covers a total display area of 36,000 sqm with a 26% increase. Poland, Slovakia, Rwanda, Australia, New Zealand and Tanzania are new participating countries in 2018.
With an upgrading layout, GITF 2018 consists of 5 halls of newly launched Tourist Culture and Commodity, International Travel & MICE, Domestic Tourism, Local Travel Agency and Thematic Tourism. The show features all kinds of travel products and services to showcase a new atmosphere of tourism market. The “GMIC+GITF Global Intelligent Travel and Tourism Innovation Summit” will be also held on the first day to explore how to use top technologies of big data, mobile, cloud computing and IoT to realize the innovative drive of tourism industry.
A mirror of the global tourism market
Since the implementation of reform and opening-up for 40 years, China has increasingly integrated with the world. Overseas travel has now become a popular vacation choice for Chinese people. As a leading and influential travel fair in southern China, GITF successfully attracts a big number of countries to tap into China's tourism market by virtue of its high degree of internationalization and diversification. International exhibitors will present a variety of exoticism and the latest overseas travel information at one stage.
Panama, located in the most southern part of Central America, has abundant tourism resource and benefited from stable economic growth for many years. In March, as the official partner country, Panama will bring along its tourism agencies to display the beautiful country sceneries to China's tourism market.
In addition, Peru will organize seminars to introduce its rich tourism resources. Polish National Tourist Office will take visitors to experience the beautiful snowy scenery of Zakopane. Greece, Egypt, Turkey and Seychelles are coming back to GITF again, showcasing the most attractive travel destinations and products to lead visitors experiencing the extraordinary history and civilization.
Integrated tourism showcasing unique culture
As one of the most economically developed regions in China, Guangzhou owns abundant tourism resources and rich source of tourists. In 2017, Guangzhou received 204 million tourists. About 3.46 million of them were foreign tourists, seeing a year-on-year growth of 4.87%. This year, Guangzhou tourism bureau will once again alliance with Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Qingyuan, Shaoguan, Zhongshan, Yunfu, Hezhou, Guilin, Nanhai, Panyu, Shunde, Heyuan, Meizhou, Zengcheng and Huadu to display tourism attractions of Southern China. Tourism bureaus from Shanxi, Wuhan, Dalian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Suzhou, Nanjing, Nantong, Ningbo, Chenzhou, Guiyang, Luoyang, Qiqihar, Xuancheng, Fuzhou, Bijie and Qiannan will present various kinds of new tourism products including customized tour, island tour, cruise and RV tour to buyers and visitors. Zhengjia Group will present with its Grandview natural history museum, aquarium and rainforest pavilion. Guangzhou Chimelong Panda Hotel will exhibit its one-stop family resort onsite.
Worth to mention that the debuted Culture and Commodity Hall will focus on local specialties, cultural creative travel products, souvenirs and gifts, making visitors feel the charm of tour culture and art and reappearing the local and folk custom image through tourist commodity. And the premiere urban cultural brand promotion area will be held to promote the international development of Guangfu cultural industry. Exhibitors from home and abroad will be also invited to visit the concurrent Guangfu Temple Fair.
With the official launch of “Beautiful China Year of Integrated Tourism”, the Thematic Tourism Hall will set up China’s B&B area to follow the trend of refined tourism alternatives, personalized tourism consumptions and considerate tourism services. Splendid activities will be held to showcase unique styles of different B&B in China.
Concurrent events to support the show
During the GITF 2018, a series of professional seminars and forums will be held to explore the latest industrial trend, especially the smart tourism. The “GMIC+GITF Global Intelligent Travel and Tourism Innovation Summit” will integrate superior resources of IT and related industrial capital, fully demonstrating innovation and application of intelligent travel system application platform, product and VR in tourism industry. Experts from travel technology and Internet tourism will be invited to analyze current situation of China’s tourism industry and figure out how to use top technologies of big data, mobile, cloud computing and IoT to realize the innovative drive of tourism industry. The Thematic Tourism Hall will also set up a new sport event area to create new tourism hotspots.
