WHMS 2018 Comes to a Successful Close

The 19th Wuhan Motor Show (WHMS 2018) came to a successful close on October 16, 2018 at Wuhan International Expo Center. The six-day’s show has not only attracted the attention of fans and citizens from all over the country, but also received the attention of provincial and municipal leaders. As the largest professional car exhibition in the central region that exhibiting the highest specifications of exhibitors, WHMS 2018 attracted more than 300 auto exhibitors and unveiled more than 800 models with a total display area of 140,000 sqm. More than 80 brands brought new models and conceptual experience interactive services and released dozens of new vehicles.
Auto companies competed to seize the market with full efforts
At this year’s show, luxury brands, joint venture brands, and self-owned brands unveiled their strongest product lineups respectively. Auto makers from Germany, US, France, Japan and South Korea were all present. The five major groups Dongfeng, GAC, FAW, SAIC, and CCAG also attended the show. Many brands uplifted their own booth specifications, being consistent with their product concepts and showcasing brand elegance.
Visitors saw the debut of new vehicles, including Dongfeng Nissan CR-V, Dongfeng Nissan Sylphy, Eclipse Cross, GAC Toyota C-HR, Subaru New Generation Forester, Changan GS95, MG HS, GAC Honda New Generation Crider, Ford New Focus, FAW Toyota IZOA, GAC Trumpchi GS4, Changan Mazda CX8, LA FESTA, MAXUS G50, arising the interests of many consumers.
In recent years, new products of auto companies have accelerated their efforts on the “Auto + Internet.” This year, it is easy to find the intelligent network application in several hundred star vehicle types, such as Dongfeng Nissan, Dongfeng Venucia, FAW Toyota, GAC Honda, GAC Mitsubishi, Changan Mazda, BYD, Geely, Changan Ford, and Subaru. An APP can complete the locking and opening of car doors, and even the launching. Such technical operation that used to be only the standard of a luxury car has become more common. It also promoted major joint venture brands, and self-owned brands to provide A-class auto show exhibition equipment specifications, plus virtual driving and other technological elements, to enrich the human-machine interaction experience of the on-site consumers.

New energy has been driven from policy to consumption, indicating that it has officially entered a new era of change. WHMS 2018 continued to focus on new energy and hosted the fifth China (Wuhan) International New Energy and Smart Vehicle Development and Cooperation Summit, inviting more than 800 distinguished guests and visitors in the governmental, institutional, complete vehicles, parts and components, energy, investment and transportation fields across the entire country.
This year’s summit added three sub-meetings: new energy vehicle standardization forum, smart networked vehicle roundtable forum and smart transport salon. To build a platform for industrial exchange and cooperation for the healthy, rapid development of the automobile industry in China’s central region, the summit invited experts from the Development Research Center of the State Council, the China Machinery Industry Federation, Tsinghua University and other academic institutions, and distinguished guests from the Europe and the United States, delivering keynote speeches. Focusing on hotspots, they directly expressed their views on industrial policies, laws and regulations, and industry standards, and discussed the development and upgrading of the industry.
