Metal+Tech 2018 Facilitates the Development of Sheet Metal Industry in South China

The first international metal exhibition in Guangzhou and Foshan area -- Metal + Tech 2018 successfully drew the curtain at Guangdong Tanzhou International Convention and Exhibition Center on November 30. The event gathered some 100 well-known enterprises from more than 8 countries and regions including Germany, the United States, Canada, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, China Hong Kong and China Taiwan, to jointly promote the cluster-oriented, chain-based and high-end development of sheet metal processing industry in southern China. The four-day event attracted 65 buyer groups and 7690 trade visitors in total.

Dialoges in the industry
Sheet metal is a process of processing steel sheet, aluminium sheet, copper sheet and other metal sheet, mainly including cutting, laser stamping, folding/coiling, welding and surface treatment. Now the industrial clusters are mainly located in East China, South China and North China. Generally, East China has accumulated large-scale customer groups featuring regulated corporate governance and solid foundation for high-end manufacturing transformation. The South China market is dominated by SMEs, which need to further improve their automation and corporate management standards.

Mr. Gary Liu, Managing Director of Hannover Milano Fairs China Ltd., expressed, Foshan has large demands for sheet metal industry as an important manufacturing city. This year, one third of exhibitors come from South China and the rest are from East China and North China. We hope for establishing a high-end professional trading platform for sheet metal enterprises from South China, East China and North China through Metal + Tech, assisting Guangzhou and Foshan sheet metal enterprises to expand brand influence through the exhibition so as to expand their market of Foshan city, even the whole South China region.

A strong lineup of exhibitors to lead the trend
With the transformation from “Made in China” to “Created in China”, the fully automatically flexible production line represents the future development trend. As a domestic professional show on sheet metal processing technology, Metal + Tech 2018 attracted the supportive industries for flexible processing of sheet metal and Industry 4.0 that brought many automation production line for sheet metal production, including Han’s Laser, Hymson, Penta Laser, Yawei, Bodor, Tailift, Deratech, Accurpress, Lead Laser, Smart Prima, Siegmund, ARKU and BLM.

Deratech brought its competitive lineups, of which UBB gas-electric hybrid CNC bending machine, manipulator bending unit and other products just showed at China International Import Expo. The bending products could realize full automation from feeding, to bending and then to cutting, suitable for new energy battery, aluminum curtain wall, stainless steel processing, motor industry, door and other industry. Bodor, winner of the 2017 export, showcased Bodor series that have won the world’s top industrial design award of “Red Dot Award”. Those stunning sheet cutting equipment surprised visitors with a concisely magnificent visual effect onsite. Two-port network devices ran unremittingly and well-cut metal products were “ejected” to the notch.

Han’s Laser showcased a laser flexible production line, which enables automation production of sheet metal, not only improving production efficiency and shortening production cycle, but also reducing labor intensity and human cost. Tailift presented its complete automation production line, covering sheet metal feeding, cutting, stamping and bending, showing its utmost sincerity to assist with the development of Foshan sheet metal processing industry. Hymson brought HP6018D laser intelligent pipe cutter, whose automatic feeding and cutting platform enables the seamless connection with pipe cutter through CNC system control. The machine supports hoisting and feeding of the whole bundle of pipes with the length measured automatically. The control system enables intelligent feeding and setting and realizes automatic transmission.

In addition, Siegmund brought “Mobile Workstation”, the best product of 2018 German Industry Award; and RAS presents the folding machine imported with the original packaging. JISCO and TISCO present the high-quality metal raw materials on site. Wila, Beta, Canadian Accurpress, Lissmac, and Praxair also brought their professional solutions for the sheet metal sector.

Ms. Wang Guiping, Chairman of Guangzhou Sheet Metal Industry Association, and Mr. Andrea Luttmann, General Manager of HMI, attended and delivered a speech at Guangzhou-Foshan Area Metal Sheet Gala 2018 dedicatedly held on the first day. This event gathered gurus from the sheet metal industry to discuss business opportunities and promote the mutual development. While thanking all parties, the organizer took this opportunity to increase industry communication, establish mutual trust and make their continued efforts for the sustainable and healthy development of the sheet metal industry.

Concurrently, Robotation Academy Foshan - Fraunhofer IFF Metal Materials and Processing Technology - Industry 4.0 Conference Program was held under the theme of metalwork and processing technology, centered on strengthening the soft power of enterprises and realizing the future development of green and intelligent manufacturing, so as to discuss specific measures for the transformation and upgrading of metalwork processing industry and grasping the opportunities in the new emerging market through analyzing the current status of metalwork treatment and processing technology and sharing industrial cases from both at home and abroad.
