Guangzhou International Travel Fair 2019 Will Kick off This Month

Guangzhou International Travel Fair 2019 (GITF 2019) will be grandly opened at China Import and Export Fair Complex Guangzhou on February 21-23, attracting 1,042 exhibitors from 55 countries and regions with a total display area of 36,000 sqm. Finland, Venezuela, Iran, Mongolia and Fiji are new participating countries and Sri Lanka is the partner country.

Taking advantage of the integration of culture and tourism, GITF 2019 consists of 5 halls of newly launched  Culture & Tourism Lifestyle, International Travel & MICE, Domestic Tourism, Local Travel Agency and Thematic Tourism. The show features various tourism products and services to showcase new trends in tourism in the era of culture and tourism. International Travel Living Summit Forum and the Culture and Tourism Era Summit Forum will be held concurrently, where many industry experts and business leaders will be invited to discuss the trends and bottlenecks of the diversified development of domestic tourism resources.

An International Expo with Exotic Features
With the steady development of China’s economy, the substantial increase in the national income level, and the increasing convenience in transportation, China’s outbound travel has become the world’s largest tourism market. In 2018, the number of outbound travels of Chinese citizens was 149 million, an increase of 14.7% over the same period of last year. As the earliest and longest-established large-scale international tourism exhibition in China, GITF has become the “debut platform” for almost all the countries in the world to tap the Chinese tourism market with its high internationalization, professionalism and profound industrial influence. 68% of the 1,029 exhibitors were international exhibitors in last year. The overseas exhibitors of this year will maintain a high standard to showcase their products and services.

Sri Lanka, which enjoys the reputation of “the pearl in the Indian Ocean,” will become this year’s partner country. 18 local travel agencies, hotels and resorts in Sri Lanka will form a huge exhibition lineup in Guangzhou with its beautiful beaches, mysterious ancient cities, abundant natural heritage and the unique culture.

The international pavilion will also gather exhibitors from Germany, Italy, Greece, UK, France, Poland, Russia, Finland, Czech Republic, Romania, Austria, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus, Switzerland, Slovakia, Norway, Serbia, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Turkey, UAE, Iran, Oman, Malaysia, Indonesia, Maldives, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, India, Nepal, Mongolia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Cuba, Rwanda, Seychelles, and Tanzania to display ingenious products.

Regional cooperation to build Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area
In order to further implement the national strategy of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the show will invite special guests from the tourism departments and enterprises of China Hong Kong and China Macao to attend the forum and deliver keynote speeches, focusing on winning tourism cooperation, tourism image co-molding and other aspects to promote the development of urban tourism in the Great Bay Area. Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Foshan, Zhaoqing, Qingyuan, Shaoguan, Guilin and Hezhou will also participate the show.

In-depth Development and Integration of Culture and Tourism
As the core area of Guangfu culture, Guangzhou has plenty of historical and cultural tourism resources. The organizer escalates last year’s culture life experience area to this year’s Culture & Tourism Lifestyle hall. Accordingly, the display area has been increased to 3,000 sqm from 300 sqm. During the exhibition, the hall will be a place gathering culture and tourism IPs. Many cultural celebrities will bring wonderful shows and activities. In addition to the traditional tea, ritual, drama, and food, the hall has added elements such as landmarks, history, and trends to present a vivid representation of new Guangfu culture. Splendid activities will provide a feast of Guangfu culture for the exhibitors and visitors at home and abroad.

Beijing, Nanjing, Wuhan, Chengdu, Ningbo, Sanya, Qiqihaer, Suzhou, Qidong, Rugao, Yulin, Wushan, Yanan, Bijie, Guizhou and Xinjiang will showcase the achievements of local culture and tourism.

Concurrent events to support the show
In the context of the national construction and development philosophy and strategy, there is a sharp increase in market demand. As the “wind vane” of China’s tourism industry, GITF 2019 will launch International Travel Living Summit Forum. Themed with “integrating business and tourism: the future of travel”, more than 40 experts will share practical experience and unique insights to further master the development trend and direction of international travel for the next five to ten years.

The show will also show buyers and visitors a variety of customized tour, RV tour, island tour, cruise tour and other new tourism products to meet the needs of personalized experience-based tourism market. 20 new product release presses will provide a one-stop platform for overseas buyers to get diversified tourism information and explore business cooperation.
