GITF 2019 Rounded Off with a Success

The most important annual tourism event in Asian-Pacific region——Guangzhou International Travel Fair 2019 (GITF 2019) was successfully closed at China Import and Export Complex today. Attracting 1,042 exhibitors from 55 countries and regions, this year’s show covered a total display area of 36,000 sqm. The three-day event has received 39,766 trade visitors, an increase of 6.51% compared to the last session, and 819 of them were VIP buyers.
To keep up with the times and grasp the opportunity in the era of culture and tourism integration, the organizer has upgraded the layout and planning of GITF, launching characteristic and high-quality “tourism + culture” products, and drive the high-end and quality development of the culture and tourism industry from a global perspective and strategic thinking.
A Grand Annual Event with high International Participation
GITF 2019 has maintained a high international standard, with 68% of 1,042 enterprises came from aboard.
As the strategic partner of China’s “The Belt and Road”, the partner country Sri Lanka adopted a new positioning of “So Sri Lanka” and integrated its rich cultural tourism resources with high-end luxurious elements to provide immersive travel experience for Chinese tourists. The first-debuted Tourism Fiji displayed the abundant tourism resources from 333 beautiful islands in Fiji, while the Greek National Tourism Organization attracted visitors to the origin of European civilization with powerful videos. Moreover, UK, France, Romania, Austria, Poland, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Slovakia, Norway, Serbia, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates, Rwanda and other countries and regions proffered diverse options for customers through more convenient and affordable travel modes.
Adam Bralczyk, Consul General of Poland Consulate General in Guangzhou, expressed that GITF allows them to learn more about the latest news and information in the tourism industry. They can integrate more resources by attending GITF, so that more people can understand the rich historical and cultural assets of Poland. This demonstrated that Chinese market has become a focus of international tourism sector and fully reflected the GITF’s appeal to exhibitors worldwide.
Overall Improvement by Integrating Culture and Tourism
The establishment of Ministry of Culture and Tourism officially opens a new era of culture and tourism and brings new opportunities for the development of the culture and tourism industry. The intangible cultural heritage exhibition zone in the debuted Tourism Culture & Lifestyle Hall displayed a series of culture and tourism highlights including production skills of copper ware, traditional pastry molds and jade sculptures of Guangzhou. And the original Cantonese culture performances were greatly favored by the visitors on site.
The tourism departments of Beijing, Nanjing (Jiangsu), Wuhan(Hubei), Chengdu(Sichuan), Ningbo(Zhejiang), Sanya(Hainan), Qiqihar(Heilongjiang), Suzhou(Jiangsu), Qidong(Shandong) and Rugao(Jiangsu), Yulin (Guangxi), Wushan(Chongqing), Yan'an (Shaanxi), Bijie(Guizhou), Qiannan(Guizhou) and Fuquan(Guizhou), Shufu(Xinjiang) and other regions, and the exhibitors from South China Alliance Cities, “Nanhai, Panyu and Shunde Tourism Alliance”, Meizhou and Huadu District, Zengcheng District and Nansha District in Guangzhou displayed their local culture and tourism products.
To explore how to grasp the opportunity for integrated industrial development under the new culture and tourism era, GITF 2019 specially held the Summit Forum on “Culture Highlights All——Strategies Choice in a Culture and Tourism Era”.
Increasing Travel Living Demands Drive the Development of Tourism Market
Today, the pursuit and demands of people for a better life are ever increasing. Therefore, the travel living that enables tourists to deeply experience local cultural life and make itinerary planning flexibly and autonomously has become the “wind vane” for future development of China’s tourism market. Against this backdrop, International Travel Living Cities Summit 2019 was concurrently held. Themed with “Integrate Business and Tourism: The Future of Travel”, many invited experts delivered the keynote speeches, respectively, sharing their unique insights into the high-end consumption, yacht tourism, self-driving tourism, study tourism and other topics on the travel era.
During the 3-day event, more than 20 seminars and new product presentations were held to provide a one-stop platform for buyers to get diversified tourism information and explore business cooperation.
As a leading travel fair in South China even the whole Asia, GITF is dedicated to becoming a mega tourism show in the industry by its strong capability, gathering more tourism partners and buyers together to jointly write a new chapter. The next edition will be held on February 20-22, 2020.
