HANNOVER MESSE presents climate-neutral solutions for industry

Expanding competitiveness, protecting the climate, driving prosperity – these are the key tasks facing industry today. Innovative technologies are crucial to meeting such challenges. But how can companies make the most efficient use of automation, artificial intelligence, renewable energies and hydrogen? HANNOVER MESSE 2024 provides the answers. 

Hannover, Germany. “Innovative technologies like those we see in April at HANNOVER MESSE are paving the way to a climate-neutral, high-performance industry,” explains Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Managing Board, Deutsche Messe AG. “However, companies need advice and guidance on how to make sensible use of automation, artificial intelligence, renewable energies and hydrogen. Furthermore, bureaucracy and a shortage of skilled workers are limiting growth potential,” he adds.

HANNOVER MESSE 2024 provides the answers to these challenges under the lead theme of “Energizing a Sustainable Industry.” According to Köckler, “The secret lies in the interaction of technologies as well as cross-industry collaboration, embracing new technology and a clear political framework. We also must inspire the younger generation to strive for high-tech industrial jobs.”

HANNOVER MESSE is the world’s only platform that promotes close networking between government, industry and research in order to develop solutions and shape the necessary transformation process.

At the world’s leading industrial trade fair for industry, companies from the mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and digital industries as well as the energy sector come together to present solutions for a high-performance and sustainable industry. More than 4,000 companies act as an interconnected industrial ecosystem and demonstrating how climate neutrality can be achieved through electrification, digitalization and automation. Köckler explains, “The use of artificial intelligence in particular is leading to greater efficiency and product quality in industry.”

More than 300 startups from various fields of technology showcase innovations with disruptive potential. HANNOVER MESSE offers innovative forms of participation that bring industrial companies together with startups for personal discussions. 

Sustainable and emission-free energy supply is increasingly coming into focus. This includes the use of renewable energies as well as their storage, the implementation of a comprehensive energy management system and integration into an intelligent power grid. With the increased use of volatile energy sources, green hydrogen has also gained in importance. At the upcoming HANNOVER MESSE, around 500 exhibitors from the hydrogen and fuel cell industry present their solutions for an emissions-free economy. 

HANNOVER MESSE launched the young talent initiative YOUR FUTURE in 2023, a project that is now being significantly expanded. The program promotes STEM subjects to schoolchildren as well as students studying engineering and young professionals from tech professions. “In the future, they can all make a decisive contribution to creating climate-friendly solutions for a better world. The expertise and creativity of the next generation are in demand when it comes to climate-neutral and sustainable industry,” says Köckler.

HANNOVER MESSE demonstrates the interplay between automated production processes, digitalized energy supply, the circular economy, Industrie 4.0, hydrogen technologies, and more.

HANNOVER MESSE
HANNOVER MESSE is the world’s leading trade fair for industrial technology. In 2024, Chinese enterprises continued to integrate into the international market with a positive attitude. By the end of January 2024, more than 1,000 enterprises had registered to exhibit at the event, with a net exhibition area of more than 17,000 sqm. It is noteworthy that more and more Chinese leading companies are making their debut on this world's industrial stage, with their products ranging from hydrogen fuel cells, robots, high-end automation equipment, energy system solutions, artificial intelligence, industrial internet and 5G applications. Chinese enterprises are paying more attention to developing global markets and shaping the international influence of their brands, which is a breakthrough compared with the earlier trade pattern of simply exporting and receiving orders.

Regarding the key distribution areas of Chinese exhibitors, they are mainly from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shanghai, Beijing, Shanxi, Shandong, Sichuan, Liaoning, Hebei, Shaanxi and so on. It is worth mentioning that Chinese enterprises are no longer satisfied with only exhibiting the latest products and solutions, but are more actively involved in the co-construction of the global industrial chain, and actively participate in various technical forums and industry events, and are committed to the global integration and the development of Chinese industry.

China International Industry Fair
As the only national, comprehensive, and internationalized industrial event named after China, with the longest history, the largest scale, and the most influential, the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) has witnessed the rise of “Made in China” for more than 20 years. On September 24-28, 2024, the 24th CIIF will be grandly held at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai). The exhibition will revolve around new topics such as intelligent manufacturing, industrial upgrading, digitalization, unmanned, and dual-carbon economy, displaying the entire industrial chain from basic manufacturing materials, key components, to advanced manufacturing equipment, and overall solutions.

2024 CNC Machine Tools & Metalworking Show (MWCS) and 2024 Industrial Automation Show (IAS), as the two core theme exhibitions under CIIF, will drive the industry to accelerate the iterative upgrades. Bearing the mission of green metal transformation, MWCS 2024 will showcase global intelligent machine tool equipment and cutting-edge metal processing technology. IAS 2024 will set up multiple theme exhibition areas such as intelligent manufacturing system solutions, motion control systems, intelligent sensing and connection, embedded technology, power transmission, measurement technology and instrumentation, industrial automation system integration and solutions, etc.

Chengdu International Industry Fair
Chengdu International Industry Fair 2024, themed “Creating a New Industry Chain, Sharing a New Low-Carbon Future”, will make a strong landing at the Western China International Expo City on April 24-26, with a planned area of 60,000 sqm. CDIIF 2024 covers six key fields - industrial automation, CNC machine tools and metal processing, robots, new generation information technology and applications/industrial Internet, new materials, energy saving and industrial support. It is expected to gather 800 exhibiting enterprises from all over the world. International leading manufacturing enterprises together with local well-known characteristic enterprises will bring advanced technologies and solutions that deeply integrated with the China’s southwest market.

Industrial Fair Network 2024
To explore the opportunities for industrial sustainable development amid the digitalization and low-carbonization transformation, the Industrial Fair Network, an event carrying the gene of the world-class industrial technology event “HANNOVER MESSE”, will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on November 5-8, 2024.

At the Industrial Fair Network 2024, PTC ASIA will showcase industrial basic components and intelligent manufacturing. CeMAT ASIA will attract nearly a thousand well-known exhibitors from the world, covering core strengths in the fields of system integration, machine vision and industrial control, conveying and sorting systems, and mobile robots. As the only professional exhibition in the field of heavy machinery industry in China, Heavy Machinery ASIA will show a substantial increase in both exhibition area and the number of exhibitors for this session.
