2021-4-24
The first edition of Chengdu International Industry Fair (CDIIF) co-organized by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai and Donghao Lansheng·Shanghai Industry & Commerce Exhibition was concluded in the Western China International Expo City today with great success. The Metro Transit Sector (MTS), which was especially launched by CDIIF this year, attracted nearly 70 outstanding enterprises including those from Sichuan, together with domestic and international players in the metro transit industry, such as CRRC CHENGDU, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles, Xinzhu, Sichuan Railway Transportation Investment, Shanghai Shentong Metro, New United, ALSTOM, China Railway Engineering Services, Knorr-Bremse, Yunda Technology, Nanjing Kangni, Tieshan, Longertek, Rockwell, GE General Electric, ABB China, Zhejiang Zhongkong, Chengdu Traffic Control, Beijing Microview, BOE, CASCO, Tangyuan and others.
During the show, Gang Li, Vice Governor of the Sichuan Provincial Government, took a delegation to visit the MTS. Beside a new type of fully automatic transit vehicle of 160km/h developed for smart cities by the local R&D team from the CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicle, he was debriefed on its highlights of autonomous driving technology and the appearance design drawing from the local Sichuan cultures. He emphasized that Sichuan industrial enterprises should enhance indigenous innovation to constantly improve their core competitiveness, further polishing the business card of Made in Sichuan.
As a platform on which outstanding Sichuan industrial enterprises together with domestic and foreign players could stage their products and exchange with each other, the first MTS attracted numerous exhibitors to debut and showcase their best and blockbuster products. The booth for CRRC Chengdu won special attention for its bigwig product, a real high-speed maglev train with a speed of 600 km/h, particularly eye-catching for its streamlined body covered in blue and white and the front shaped like a fish mouth. On top of a long queue of spectators who were waiting on site to get on the train, there was a large number of visitors stopping nearby to take photos.
Fans of Models were treated with a lavish feast to their eyes with all sorts of train models presented in every booth. The first mountainous transit project under new standards in China stretching from the Dujiangyan Irrigation System to Mt. Siguniang undertaken by the Sichuan Railway Transportation Investment was displayed via a model at scale of 1:20. With a combination of “wheel rail + cog rail”, an innovative idea in this project, it better fits the mountainous conditions and effectively reduces the area occupied and cuts short the line length, minimizing the negative impact on plants and the eco-system.
Furthermore, Xinzhu debuted its world-first embedded medium-and-low speed Maglev system with a speed of 160km/h. Yunda Technology brought the training system of train driving simulation to the site, enabling the audience to experience firsthand how to ensure safety of all passengers in different natural conditions in a cockpit simulator.
Apart from physical objects and models, the ingenious combination of VR, AR and other technologies with intelligent manufacturing has also become a focus of attention during the show. China Railway Engineering Services demonstrated its newly developed VR 3D visualization platform on which the construction site could be intuitively restored in 3D visualization with the help of VR, facilitating operators to access on-site information more directly and clearly about the operation of shield machine.
All exhibitors spoke highly of the organization of the MTS. Shuaishuai Zheng, Senior Marketing Manager from CRRC Chengdu Southwest Marketing Center, said that “It is a hard-won opportunity. CRRC Chengdu presented itself to the highest standards and with the utmost input unprecedented in recent years. This show was well organized in a very orderly way and covered every aspect”.
Guang Yang, Head of the Exhibition Unit in the Technology Management Department of CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles, who has rich experience in exhibitions, remarked that “Trade visitors were in quite a large number, fully meeting our expectations. In addition to CRRC, there are many other exhibitors including foreign brands such as Alstom and CASCO, as well as some plants of rail transit parts. This gave us a valuable opportunity to communicate with others from the industry. And we will definitely attend the next show”.
