Mr. Wei Zhou, General Manager of Donghao Lansheng·Shanghai Industry & Commerce Exhibition, remarked that the MTS is specifically established for the purpose of creating a designated forum for the metro transit industry in Chengdu as a further step to contribute to the upgrading of rail transit infrastructure in Chengdu and southwest areas, modernize the industrial chain, and pull together metro transit businesses in Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan and Ziyang in an attempt to pursue high quality development of the industry in the west even the whole China.
The overall strength of Chengdu has been boosted in recent years. In 2010, the first metro line was commissioned in Chengdu as the first wholly underground metro line in operation in the central and western part of China. In December 2020, five metro lines in Chengdu were simultaneously put into preliminary operation, which made Chengdu the first municipality to run five new metro lines at the same time in China and also the first in China whose metro lineage has been the fasted to break the record of 500 km. A short period of 11 years is still enough for Chengdu to grow into the Top 4 metro transit city in China with a total 13 metro lines in operation and 373 metro stations opened for business. Its public transport has accounted for over 50% and the intensity of construction has ranked No. 1 in China for four consecutive years. Indicators including operation development, efficiency, services and safety all stand among the best in China. In the future, metro transit in Chengdu will devote more efforts to enrich its existing network and accelerate the construction to connect Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan and Ziyang. By the year of 2035, the metro transit in Chengdu is planned to reach 1,699 km, well on the trajectory of achieving the target of building a world-class metro transit network composed of HSR hubs, whole-area rails and metro cities.
The Sector of Metro Transit will fully display the latest accomplishments of metro transit industry in Chengdu and relevant cities with a focus on piecing together industrial resources, integrating the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, and erecting professional platforms of exchange and cooperation to execute more projects. CRRC CHENGDU, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles, Xinzhu, Sichuan Railway Transportation, Shanghai Shentong Metro, New United, ALSTOM, China Railway Engineering Services, Knorr-Bremse, Yunda Technology, Nanjing Kangni, Tieshan, Longertek, Rockwell, GE General Electric, ABB China, Zhejiang Zhongkong, Chengdu Traffic Control, Beijing Microview, BOE, CASCO, Tangyuan and many other renowned companies will present the trending of metro transit together with the most advanced manufacturing technologies by showcasing physical objects and processed samples, conducting demos of production line and engaging visitors in other kinds of interactions.

Xinzhu plans to debut its world-first medium-and-low speed Maglev system with a speed of 160km/h, from which its high attention on and interest in MTS are quite obvious. CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles will release its municipal full-automatic vehicles for Chengdu, a symbolic step that the Chengdu Metro has marched greatly towards unmanned driving.
Gary Liu, General Manager of Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai, emphasized that, MTS is not only a platform to showcase latest equipment and technology, but also to let every participant have a clear understanding of the entire system of the metro transit industry and grasp all the opportunities.
At the MTS, Chengdu Urban Rail Transit Industry Association plans to release the Chengdu Urban Rail Transit Industrial Scenarios and Opportunity List at the conference for rail transit companies in Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan and Ziyang whose contents cover national important railway projects, the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing central line in the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin City Economic Circle, and market list for the connection of Chengdu, Deyang, Meishan and Ziyang.
